The son of former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and now Cowboys broadcaster Babe Laufenberg says he’s cancer-free.
In early December, Babe’s son Luke was playing well as a wide receiver for Mesa Community College in Arizona. But then he got sick.
The day after Christmas, Luke Laufenberg was diagnosed with an aggressive form of blood cancer. He went through months of chemotherapy and lost 80 pounds.
“It was really difficult, but around me they kept a really positive attitude. Some days I would have never known if it was affecting them,” he said.
“It was,” his dad said. “I remember I would have to walk out of the room to just watch… watching your son go through that much pain.”
While in the hospital, several people stopped by to see Luke including Hall of Famer Troy Aikman.
He’s now cancer-free. He just celebrated his 20th birthday and said he feels great.
