Controversial Photo of Robert Griffin III and Wife Causes Social Media ‘Waves’—‘You Need to Visit Thailand Once!’

Robert Griffin III

Robert Griffin III, the former NFL quarterback, recently found himself at the center of attention after a provocative birthday post on social media as he celebrated turning 35 just before Valentine’s Day in a raunchy style with his wife.

The ex-Washington Commanders and Baltimore Ravens star grabbed headlines and amused fans alike with a rather intimate and playful photo featuring Grete Sadeiko seated at a table with his head nestled between his wife’s thighs. His chin nearly resting against her backside.

“35-year-old Birthday Parties hit different. Welcome to Thighland,” Griffin III, who threw 43 career touchdowns and 9271 yards, posted on X.com, formerly Twitter, and fans fans flooding the comments section with a mix of reactions.

One user quipped, “Now that you been to Thighland you need to visit Thailand.”

Another fan chimed in with, “Awesome way to celebrate the birthday. Happy Birthday!!”

And a third said, “Unc freaked out.”

A fourth concluded, “RG3 said he wanted a cake for his bday.”

Beyond social media antics, Griffin III has also been in the news for a major career shift when ESPN made waves when it decided to part ways with multiple on-air personalities, including the ex-football player, and the Sunday NFL Countdown host Samantha Ponder.

Griffin’s departure came shortly after he publicly defended the Florida State Seminoles, who had been left out of the College Football Playoff-a move that sparked considerable debate as he was let go in August 2023.

Despite signing a multi-year contract with ESPN in 2021, Griffin III was replaced on Monday Night Countdown by the Super Bowl champion and former-Philadelphia Eagles center, Jason Kelce, ahead of the 2024/35 NFL season.

Griffin III maintained a positive outlook and chose to see the situation as a learning experience rather than a setback, adding that he doesn’t hold anything against ESPN or Jason Kelce for their new joint venture together.

“There’s no bad blood for me,” Griffin III said of Jason and ESPN to Us Weekly. “Listen, at the end of the day, the reception after what happened from the fans showed me that I was doing it the right way, that I was telling players’ stories the right way.”
